MINDUSTRIES

Website & software studio · EU & UK

Clear, useful websites and software for professionals and institutions that need the details right.

Mindustries is a small EU & UK studio. We build websites for professionals — lawyers, accountants, consultants and the firms they lead — and for institutions like universities and cultural projects, plus custom platforms and our own SaaS. Calm, specific, and built to last.

One studio — websites, apps & SaaS.

Built for people who handle sensitive work

01 What we build

Software you can verify, not just believe in.

Three kinds of work we tend to do well. Each starts with a narrow problem that matters and ends with something you can actually point to.

02 Selected work

A few things we’ve built.

A sample of platforms we’ve designed and built for cultural and academic institutions — research archives, course networks, and the bodies behind them.

Research platform · Theatre & performance

Auralia

A research and curatorial platform on voice, sound, and oral storytelling in contemporary performance — galleries, salons, libraries, laboratories, and studios gathered into one archive.

Supported by UKRI / AHRC · partners include the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, the V&A, and Battersea Arts Centre

Course platform · Digital performance

Performing Digital

A platform for an international university course on theatre and digital culture — student projects, artist workshops, and research, across six campuses on four continents.

Built for a network spanning Bard College (NY & Berlin), Birkbeck (London), CEU (Vienna), Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá), and the University of the Witwatersrand

03 How we work

Four steps. No surprises in the middle.

Our approach is intentionally compact. We begin with how the work actually happens, then build the smallest useful thing that improves it and can be maintained by the people using it.

  1. 01 · Understand

    Map the actual process

Decisions, handoffs, constraints, and failure points. Conversations and artefacts before any contract.

  2. 02 · Define

    Scope a small first version

A lean product or bespoke build with clear boundaries — discovered by trying the wrong version first.

  3. 03 · Deliver

    Launch, then build on it

Practical increments validated with real users. Launch early. Keep the surface small.

  4. 04 · Stabilise

    Docs, tests, and keys

Traceability, sensible controls, and a team that can run the product without us in the loop.

04 Studio & products

We also build and run our own products.

We design, build, and operate our own SaaS in production — so the standards we apply to your project are the ones we hold ourselves to every day.

Our SaaS

ObligoBoard

One of our own subscription products: lightweight compliance tracking for European SMEs, with pre-built frameworks, evidence collection, and audit-ready reports. Proof we build software meant to run for years, not just launch.

05 About

Mind + Industries.

Focused thinking applied to real problems. The studio is small on purpose, so the people who design and build your work are the ones you actually talk to.

We’re a founder-led studio based in Florence, Italy, working across the EU and UK with a handful of clients at a time. Mindustries is run day-to-day by its two founders — both fully committed to it — so decisions stay direct and accountability sits with named people, not a faceless brand. AI is woven into how we work, used as an enabler under that same human accountability — never a replacement for it.

  • 01 PragmaticWe choose the tool that fits, not the one that impresses. Calm and pragmatic over promotional language.
  • 02 SpecificConcrete workflows, explicit assumptions, clear scope. General solutions are usually no one’s solution.
  • 03 DurableSoftware that ages well. Auditable, documented, and useful long after the initial launch.

The people behind Mindustries

  • Mirko Grewing, co-founder of Mindustries

    Mirko Grewing

    Co-founder · Technology, compliance & legal

Mirko leads the technical, compliance, and legal side of every engagement — architecture, build, and making sure what we deliver is auditable and on the right side of the rules. Before Mindustries, he spent two decades leading enterprise software delivery for tier-1 banks and financial institutions in regulated markets — the same rigour, now at studio scale.

  • Beatriz Cabur, co-founder of Mindustries

    Beatriz Cabur

    Co-founder · Creative direction

Beatriz leads digital strategy, user experience, and creative direction — turning brand concepts into web realities that are as considered to use as they are to look at. She co-founded Mindustries to bring her background in directing interactive media, live broadcasts, and custom digital platforms to web design, where storytelling and technical precision meet.

06 FAQ

The questions we usually get first.

Do you build products, or do bespoke work?

Both, by design. We run our own SaaS products (like ObligoBoard) and take on a small number of bespoke builds for teams with specific constraints. Running products ourselves keeps our standards practical.

Where is our data stored and processed?

Within EU and UK jurisdictions by default — and where a service sits elsewhere (like our contact-form provider), it’s named in our privacy policy. We don’t share, sell, or broker your records to third parties, and we keep prompts, sources, and decisions traceable so an audit isn’t a fire drill.

How do you use AI without losing accountability?

AI sits inside reliable workflows as an enabler — never as a replacement for accountability or sound process. Every AI-assisted step is traceable: the inputs, the sources, and the decision a human can review.

How small is “a small studio”?

Small on purpose. We work with a handful of clients at a time so decisions stay direct and execution stays close to the problem.

What does a typical engagement look like?

Four compact steps: understand the real process, scope a small first version, launch and improve it with real users, then stabilise with docs, tests, and handover — so your team can run it without us in the loop.

Do you offer support after launch?

Yes. We build so your team can run things without us — but you don’t have to. Some care is almost always needed to keep a site secure and current, so a baseline is part of what we put in place. Beyond that, support is bespoke: we design the right level of maintenance, updates, and oversight with you, around how hands-on you want to be. No fixed tiers.
